Folks, I am a passionate Bernie Sanders Democrat that believes we need to be more progressive, further to the left and increasingly forward thinking, not less, as many in the Democratic Party are telling us. The nomination of Ben Jealous, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and many others have proven this.

We must be more aggressive in how we confront issues of wealth and income inequality. We must put debt free education at the top of the agenda. We must move distributed power generation to the top of the environmental agenda. We must stop the Commonwealth from falling into the second tier of states for attracting tomorrow’s jobs and new businesses because we have let our transportation infrastructure crumble.

We must lead the nation in our support of the mission of Planned Parenthood on everything from scientifically based, age appropriate sex education to delivering vital reproductive health care and information. We must stand together with our LGBTQ friends and neighbors not only on the November ballot by voting YES on 3 (which I will be!) but by going further than making conversion therapy illegal and criminalizing the practice as fraudulent therapy.

We must stop all efforts at racial profiling through the disaggregation of personal data collected by state agencies, quasi-state agencies or entities created by state statute.

I have participated in many debates. I have answered the questionnaires from the myriad interest groups throughout the Commonwealth. I have met with individuals and leaders in the community. I have collected signatures and walked the district knocking on doors there is one thing abundantly clear about this election and the issues facing us – there are two questions to answer when casting your vote on September 4th: What do you want to invest in and what are you going to protect?

When I am your representative we will invest in: 1) Education 2) Transportation and 3) Our Labor Force. First, we make public higher education debt free. This is not something that is science fiction or something that is ultra-liberal. This as an investment. Second, we are going to have to borrow to have a first rate, expansive, environmentally sound transportation system. We need to get people to their jobs, free up the congestion and electrify our transit system. And finally, we are going to put capital in the hands of our workforce. People need access to the means to have ownership of the workplace themselves. When I am in the legislature the policy will be to fund and support Workplace Democracy.

When I am your representative we will protect: 1) The Environment; 2) The Rights of our Citizens and 3) The Working Tax Payer. First we make distributed power generation as the central policy for our clean renewable energy strategy. We put a representative from renewable energy as well as a consumer advocate on the Board of the Department of Public Utilities. Next, we follow a simple credo when it comes to our citizens: Live and Let Live! That means loving someone of the same gender, buying a wedding cake, expressing your gender or any other self-expression will not be inhibited by law or policy. Women will never lose control of their own bodies, reproductive health or have any decision made for them. And with equal importance, we will protect the working tax payer through the tax code. There are only two kinds of taxpayer – those that work for their money or those where their money work for them. We will implement the spirit of the Millionaire’s Tax by adjusting the tax burden on those whose money work for them to the level it should have been since the fight for a progressive tax code started.

I am spending the remainder of my campaign both mailing you my details for these critical policy issues and knocking on your doors so we can discuss them in person. I want you to make an informed decision about what do you want to invest in and what are you going to protect when it comes time to vote on September 4th. I have every confidence you will choose me when the time comes.

Thank you.
